After everything we have found out about Rockhelm I can't help but question why Daniel should bother bringing peace between humans and monsters since humans will likely destroy everything he worked so hard to accomplish? This isn't a new thought since we got a glimpse of the human council in Edgewood to every other human interaction they have been represented as a close minded self-fish ignorant bunch. Even their attitudes are less than ideal like the crowd who laughed when Squeak was hit with a rock, the merchants who charged extra to monsters, and the monster hunters who blindly kill anything not human. Also the fact is that the humans in Rockhelm and every other settlement have been living in a bubble since they are unaware that they are secretly ruled by monster plotting their downfall. Honestly even if Daniel could reveal the truth as well as get people to listen and get them to consider his ideals some humans are going to cause trouble so whats the point. However, I came across a particular quote from Blood Blockade Battlefront where Klaus Von Reinherz said "People are weak. Because of their weakness, they sometimes behave in ways devoid of self-respect. But then, so what if they do, my old friend? Even if I am struck with a thousand setbacks... it does not serve as a reason to alter the way I live... my life!" This quote pretty much sums up why Daniel should continue to bother with his quest to bring coexistence because while human are weak it does not change who he is a man with the heart to see the world for what it could be instead of what it currently is. So no matter what the villeins have in store it won't change one fact and that is Daniel will succeed in the end with the help of his family and maybe some unexpected friends.
